Track your Highs, Lows, Frustrations and Rewards

Here's a fresh way to look at your day. In place of sales and numbers tracking, track how you feel! What's the point of making lots of sales and working lots of hours if you don't feel great? At the end of the day just assess the tension in your physical body. Do your own body scan from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head. Is there any tension, aches, stiffness, or is your body relaxed? Next assess your intellectual happiness. Did you stimulate your intellect with new information that excited you? What did you learn today? Now look your emotional state. Are you frustrated, happy, sad, joyful? And don't forget your spiritual side. Did you take time to connect with your higher power? This check in is sometimes called PIES, for physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual.
When you are feeling frustration, lack of energy, fear, or anger, you are not in alignment with being in the flow of life. There are many ways to get UN “stuck” when you are not in a place of feeling good. Gratitude and forgiveness are the simplest ways to get back to feeling good. In my office we have group that does daily gratitude and intentions that we email each other every day in a round robin. Its inspiring and it's a great way to start the day.
On those days when you are feeling less than inspired, remember that every thought and every feeling can be reframed. Look for the times you are out of alignment with your PIES check in. These are the times I know when I am off track. I get cranky, righteous, “busy”, and do silly things like run over my phone. "On well, it's ok, because I am sooooo busy." This is what I say when I'm trying to look good and am really out of control.
You can actually observe what is happening within your physical body to tell you when you need to shift. Remember that right brain controls left side of the body and left brain controls the right side. So when I feel my right shoulder getting stiff, there is something on the left side of my brain that is getting stiff. Too much left brain working, striving, and pushing is usually the cause of it. My lows can be tracked when I start to binge eat sugar (I am a chocoholic) These are clear signs that I need to realign and put play and humor back in my life. How did a woman who was treasurer of a sea monkey club get so serious? Let's go outside and play! For my balance, I need a vacation or mini vacation every two months. So in my business plan, I am scheduling 6 vacations. Sounds crazy doesn’t it? And yet, in my life, time and time again when I go on vacation, things start flowing to me.
Having a healthy life is not avoiding the highs, lows, frustrations and rewards, that's flat-lining. A healthy life is being in the flow, and when you are not, learning your life lessons and realigning with what you know you want.
