Message from Mother and Jean Shinoda Bolen

In 1969 we saw through the eyes of the Apollo astronauts the first photo of Mother Earth from outer space and she was beautiful. We saw her blue oceans and her white clouds against the dark void of outer space, She is our metaphorically our mother. When you have a child view of your mother you are always looking at her in terms of how she can care for you, and what can she give you. When you have an adult view of your mother, you want to see her with more clarity as the observer of her beauty and her vulnerability. When you look at your own mother in this way, you are an adult. This resonates deeply with me as I have shifted my own view from child/mother view to adult/mother view in the last few years. When you see mother as she is, you can nurture her as she has nurtured you, or you can dishonor her and abandon her care. When we look at the earth, it’s as if we might look at our own mother and we see that she has nodes of cancer. It’s imperative to reach a critical mass to heal the earth before the cancer metastasizes. The secret word is “implement”
At the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, Jean Shinoda Bolen received a letter stating that the Secretary General of the United Nations would give full support to a 5th women’s world conference if the member states want it. It could be voted on in July in which case there would be the largest conference for women ever held on the planet. It would take place in all countries simultaneously with satellite feed, Skype and other technology possibly in 2012. Now the intention begins to have the member states realize the importance and tipping point for an event like this.
Jean was a catalyst at the NGO meetings we attended to bring the underpinning of spirituality to activism. The Secretary General has taken notice and I will keep all posted as we receive word from Jean as this important global event moves forward. www.5wcw.org.
