A friend reminded me of an eternal truth today. A truth I had forgotten and tragically let slip away. It’s always there, she reminded me, knocking at the door to my heart. No matter how far into denial I go we’re never very far apart. For there are times I don’t see the brilliant blue in the evening sky. Or the sun that dips below the horizon pink and orange screaming as I stroll on by. It only takes my child’s sweet breath and her words that whisper, “I love you Mommy”. For the truth to open my eyes to their timeless beauty and their amazing ability, To make me come alive so I see that my complex world makes complete sense. And know that my eternal truth has divine timing, for it comes in perfect sequence. |
Petty conflicts and frustrations, invaded time on my hands. Stolen moments and short notice date nights whenever the need lands. Forgotten promises, last minute flowers, amazing seconds of forgotten intimacy. Misjudgments in time that force pizza delivery to be a delicacy. Your loving kiss can still last my whole daylong. The memory of a dance we shared sings to me in our special song. Your glance from across the room finds no one but me. A bond with spoken promise that only you and I can see. As the years go by with experiences old and many new, A decision, even if made differently, would still bring me to you. |
Open road somewhere to go. Scenic views something to know. The road we travel on is an endless one. Leading us from our beginning into the fire burning sun. There are many roads for us to travel on. The magical adventure is the choice of which we choose upon. When two roads cross they were destined to intersect. For every road that comes together creates another direction to reconnect. One day when our road has been traveled to the end of forever. All of our intersections will be the cause that leads us all back together. |
Why a Son Needs a Mother. Of all the many different reasons a son needs a mother, the most important one is that she can kiss a skinned knee away like no other. A son needs a mother to teach him to be the man he was always meant. A mother knows which rules should be followed and which rules are allowed to be bent. A son needs his mother because her tender touch will one day become his own. Her heart is only a few beats away from being his; they’re so tightly sewn. The lullabies she sings so softly are always the perfect song. A mother knows how to give a hug that will last the whole daylong. A son needs a mother because she will forever look at him in admiration. So the reason a son needs a mother, is the same reason a mother needs her son. |
